Puppy Training

Happy gotcha day!

OMG look at that face.

Your new puppy is adorable.

Remember though, it’s not all cuteness and cuddles…

Dogs’ brains develop quickly, and by around four months their temperament is pretty much set.

This is known as the socialisation window – a critical stage when they get used to the world around them.

And if you don’t get it right, you can create lifelong behavioural problems.

If you want to avoid common pitfalls like:

  • Jumping up
  • Pulling on the lead
  • Separation anxiety
  • Fear reactivity
  • Resource guarding
  • Overexcitement
  • Poor recall.

You need to socialise AND train your pup correctly.

By taking the time to understand your puppy’s behavioural traits, how it acclimatises to new experiences, and how it learns  – even when you don’t think you’re teaching it anything – you’ll have a much more rewarding relationship.

If this sounds a little daunting, our puppy support packages guide you through this crucial phase, resulting in a confident, calm dog that chooses you over competing distractions.
